The weather is getting warmer. The kids are out of school. The feeling of freedom, eating juicy peaches over the sink, listening to Tom Petty as you drive down dirt roads, making bonfires in backyards, the smell of sunscreen on the slightly sweaty skin. The feeling of Summer is in the air! The craving for a summer cookout is strong.
Even though summer is a few weeks away, June 21st to be exact. The feeling of summertime is in the air the moment the final bell rings. That means for us parents the feeling of summertime is getting those extra few moments of sleep, coming home to laughter and playing, and hopefully cooking out on the grill.
Nothing says summertime to me that good old fashion cookouts. Fire up the grill, lather up the sunscreen, let the kids play in the sprinklers, and if you live in the south defiantly don’t forget the bug spray.
So, what better way to celebrate the season than to reach out once again to the amazing food blogging community for their favorite Feeling of Summertime Cookout Dishes.
Whether its simple flavorful side dishes, marinated juicy tender grilled main courses, or festive desserts made with seasonal fruits there is nothing that embraces the feeling of summertime like these tasty dishes! I hope you enjoy!

To be honest, I don’t really like cooking hot foods much in the summer. So, anything that I would cook would have to be cold or room temperature to match the temperature atmosphere of the weather. However, some of the linked recipes look really good, especially the sauteed mushrooms. Yummers! 🙂 I’m going to take a look. 😉
I completely understand not cooking hot stuff in the summer, but since you like this line up maybe you can try them in the fall or winter!!!
I love all of these ideas! Definitely going to bookmark this page and use some of these ideas this summer! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed the list!
The brownies look amazing!!! I find it hard to find dairy free recipes for sweet treats! Thanks for sharing!
Yes, dairy free is hard when it comes to sweet treats and almond and soy milk I feel doesn’t cook the same the texture is always off. BUT!! these brownies are to die for! I made them for the dental office I used to work for and they were gone within 15 minutes, absolutely amazing!!
All of these look so good, but I really want to try that Strawberry Cake! Yum!
Thank you so much!!! My daughter absolutely loves that strawberry cake I am lucky to get a slice!
I have got to try Easy Bean Salad! That looks so delicious. I would have it with chips!
Healthy and delicious!! It is good with some brown rice sesame seed crackers just saying!! Thank you for your kind words!
That recipe for the veggie wraps with hummus looks delish! Recipes I love during the summer are ones that don’t involve turning on my oven (having a hot oven on, on a hot summer day is the absolute worst!!!) so anything fresh and doesn’t involve a lot of heat in my house it what I like to make and eat! Thanks for sharing these yummy recipes! – Xo Kam
I avoid the oven as much as I can during the summer, you are totally right hot oven on a hot day is the worst! I love my instant pot and my grill during the summer I am learning lol. Those hummus wraps are great for a day at the park picnic. I think I am going to fix some to bring for the 4th of July in the park we are going to attend!
Thank You for those amazing salads recipes. They look amazing.

So many nice options! I love the summer because we can cook many family favorites. That berry cake looks amazing not to mention the kebabs yummy!
Summer is one of my favorite seasons to cook! I think it is because my kids love being outside so I just fire up the grill and let them run crazy! I am glad you enjoyed the list!
All these meals and desserts look great, I’ll have to definitely try them out! 🙂 I think I’ll start from a strawberry cake as soon this fruit will be too expensive here to use it for cakes! 🙂
Well, I hope the price drops soon so you can enjoy that cake! They are in season here and my daughter is loving it! Thank you for your kind words!
The lemon poppy seed bread, brownies, and wraps look amazing. These would be perfect for a summer get together.

We loving grilling out kabobs! I will admit, we buy them pre-made in the butchers department!
Hey, that saves time, I get it! But if you ever have some extra time making a big batch use your favorite seasoning blend and freeze for later to save time and money.

The kabobs and Hawaiian macaroni salad look delicious! I love corn on the cob! I know it’s simple…but grilling it in the husk is so delicious.
You just spoke to my heart. The other day I had friends over and just tossed the corn on while it was still in the husk and they thought I was crazy, but the flavor is just AMAZING!!! I hope you have a wonderful 4th of July!!
