You can’t go wrong with pizza night! Easy Pizza Dough is the perfect thing for a family fun night. It is made in advance making it easy to focus on what is really important, creating messy fun memories!

Pizza is a big thing in my house, and I am thinking maybe in yours too! Just the sound of the word pizza gets the kids going and it is just that special thing. It can be a fun and nutritious meal, but it can also be the opposite.
When we were going through a season in life that wasn’t the greatest. I had a lot my job, Greg also lost his job and got a new one traveling so we only saw him every 6 weeks for 5 days, Jane was just getting started the behavior therapy she needed, new school, Eli just started walking, and so much more. My anxiety was at an all-time high and I started getting these really bad debilitating panic attacks almost daily.
I am not going to lie, guys, it was rough.
However, something good came out of it. It was just learning that in life you have to celebrate every moment no matter how small. At the time for all of us just getting through the week was a victory. It didn’t matter if it was the worst week or the best week ever. We got through it.
So entered Pizza Friday in the Ashley-Giberson household. Every Friday we would make pizza together. If it was a fabulous week we would add in the wings or mozzarella sticks, sometimes both. We would always wipe up a quick side salad to make us feel better about the vegging out.
Then we would spend the rest of the night, talking, playing games, watching movies and really just enjoying the moment being 100% present.
Still to this day we celebrate Pizza Friday. So when I say this 10-Minute Prep Easy Pizza Dough From Scratch Recipe is a time saver I am not joking. We make it once a week and it makes 2 large pizza or 1 large and a big batch of garlic knots or 2 mediums and a small cheesy bread or 8 small individual pizzas for a build your own pizza bar.

Get Creative
Pizza dough is just one of those things that every home cook should have in their round-house of recipes. Not only is it for pizza but you can use it to create stuffed and baked sandwiches, appetizers, garlic knots, and I could go on and on!
The best part is that easy pizza dough on has a few ingredients, is really quick to put together, then you ignore it and let it rise up while you go to work, clean your house, go out with the girls, then in a few hours it is ready to roll out.
Yes, it is something you have to plan ahead to make but it is something that can be easily whipped up in the morning or the night before.

How to Make Pizza Dough
There are two ways to make this pizza dough. You can make it in a stand mixer, or you can make it by hand. Whichever way you decide it is still quick and easy.
- First, place 3 1/2 cups flour in the bowl, along with the sugar, salt, oil, and hot water, and start mixing.
- Second, add flour 1/4 cup at a time just until it forms a ball
- If mixing in a stand mixer with a kneading hook keep adding flour until dough is no longer sticky. You may need to remove from hook a few times to make sure you are getting the whole batch of dough.
- If mixing by hand. Once a ball is formed add a sprinkle more flour to the top of the ball and knead right there in the bowl. Which is why you want a LARGE bowl. Doing this will help save on cleanup. You may need to add more flour as you knead the ball. You want to knead until the dough is no longer sticky and when you push on it slowly rises back to form. (This should only take 2 minutes tops, 10-20 kneads)
Place dough in a clean oiled bowl
- Yes, the mixture is no longer sticky but as it rises it will get sticky again. Help with your cleanup by oiling the boil
- Use a spray: Quick and easy
- Place a splash of oil in the down and use a paper town to spread it around, also quick and easy.
Your all done with the Prep!

- Let rise.
- If you are letting it rise overnight place the clear wrap over the top of the bowl and a towel and place in the fridge. An hour before ready to use remove from fridge and set on the counter
- If using the same day cover with a towel and allow the dough to rise at least 2 hours before using/molding.
- Pizza dough after it has risen you can roll out and topped with your choice of toppings and you can bake right away
- What temp to bake
- Pizza dough aka leaner bread made with just flour, water, and yeast is generally baked at 400 °F to 425 °F. This means your pizza is done in 10-20 minutes depending on size
- Large pizza 15 minutes for soft crust 20 minutes for a crispier crust
- Medium pizza 10 minutes for soft crust 15 minutes for a crispier crust
- Small Individual Pizzas 5 minutes for soft crust 10 minutes for a crispier crust
- NOTE: You want the crust to start to golden, the cooking time can vary depending on thickness it is rolled out as well as the size and the altitude you are cooking at.
