Oh! Mother! I mean oh, Mother’s Day. From Mother’s Day Brunch to Mother’s Day Dinner we got you covered this year thanks to some amazing food bloggers. But, first, let’s discuss what a Mother really wants on Mother’s Day.
There are plenty of articles out there giving opinions on what Mother’s really want for Mother’s Day. Some say mothers want to be showered with gifts and pampered at the spa. Others say mother want to spend every minute with their kids because that is why they get to celebrate Mother’s Day after all. So, what do Mom’s really want on Mother’s Day?
Well, honestly, I think it depends on the mom. Therefore, all articles are correct to a certain extent. The best thing to do is to ask and if she really wants something special she will let you know. However, if she is anything like me, on Mother’s Day I don’t want presents I just want to be present.
I think these days, more than ever, we as mothers, get so caught up in everything that is going on around us we forget to savor the small moments. We are the first to get up in the morning and the last to go to bed at night. We work 24/7, 365 days a year, and most of us also have day jobs. We juggle doctor’s appointments, school schedules, meal plans, extracurriculars, play dates, household chores, along with kid crafts. We are shofars, chefs, maids, and sometimes nurses. For the most part, we put everyone first and ourselves last. But! Really ask yourself, in all that chaos are you present in the moments or are you just there going with the flow?
I can honestly say I am not 100% present at every moment of the day. To the point at night I lay in bed and question did I really get this or that done, or oh man I totally did not do that, tomorrow first thing I will get that one thing done.
That is why this year for Mother’s Day I am not asking for any presents and I just want to take the time to be present. Listen to the kids laugh and fight, maybe go to the park and fly a kite, watch a movie (without checking my work e-mail), maybe sleep in till 7, have an amazing Mother’s Day Brunch, and a simple Mother’s Day Family Dinner. Just soak up every moment, be present, because the little humans that call me Mom deserve that just as much as I do.
Now, with that being said, I wouldn’t mind if someone made me a yummy Mother’s Day Brunch that is something I would totally be present for. Thanks to some incredible creative recipe developing food bloggers I was able to come up with the Top 12 Mother’s Day Brunch Dishes to make your planning easy.
Now, mom’s if you are reading this and would like a special someone to make something for you I suggest printing 1-12 copies of the recipe and putting it in places that special someone will find repeatedly. Hopefully, they will get the hint, or you could just ask!
But! If you are like me and find that cooking in your kitchen is your happy place. Invite the kids to help and remember messes make memories. Take lots of pictures because these moments don’t last forever.

Awww!! I cried while reading this comment (in a good way) thank you for taking the time to read mine about me page. As for this article, it is true, I feel this country is about to go through some rough times, we have become a right here and now have everything at our fingertips quick and simple lives that I feel we have lost grip of what is really important. When my daughter had her first surgery I promised myself I would absorb all the time I can. To be honest I got caught up in life and lost focus of what is really important and have fallen short on my promise. So writing it and sharing with others is a great way not only to share my thoughts but to remind myself of my promise. I am glad you enjoyed and I hope you enjoy every one of these amazing recipes! Have a wonderful weekend! Thank you
