There is nothing more satisfying on a hot day than a freezing cold treats straight out of the icebox unless it is a homemade Summertime Cool Down Sweet Treats. Warning this Summertime Cool Down Sweet Treats list will have that sweet tooth of yours screaming for more even with brain freeze.
Who else is hot? This summer has been brutal. Anyone that knows me knows I am not a fan of swimming or getting into the water. This year, however, I am happy we invested in an above ground pool a few years ago. Seriously it is a scorcher out there!
Despite the hot temps all my kids want to do is play outside all day. Bike rides, park time, running around like crazy people. As long as it is outside they are happy. And if we are being completely honest I prefer it that way.
Call me old fashion but I don’t like them staring at the screen all day. I think kids should play in the mud and scrap up their knees. I think they should drink from hoses and run through sprinklers as I am watering the lawn. I do draw the line at climbing the trees in the backyard, they are still a bit too young and the thought of them falling is too much for this mama.
The truth to this situation is the more active my kids are the more active I am. It is a win-win all around.
But! Being outside most of the day in 95+ degree temps has its downfalls. Hydration is key we always make sure to bring our water bottles out and for every 2-3 hours, we must be ready for a refill. Sunscreen, I should really buy stock in it as well as bug spray.
Finally, there is the cooldown. Stock the freezer with some Summertime Cool Down Sweet Treats for after lunch and dinner.
Now I used to be like many other parents out there, go to the store and buy that jumbo box of frozen treats. Then I saw a video about how one and the ice cream sandwich did not melt in the direct sunlight after hours of sitting there. It disgusted me so much I decide homemade is the way to go.
The happier and healthier mommy is the happier and healthier my minis are!

sugar cookie sandwich frozen dessert is definitely a treat that i’m looking for. i live in indonesia where it’s hot half of the year, so the recipe would come pretty handy. thank you for sharing! 😀
Okay, I am never complaining again about the 2-3 months of heat we have here in Texas if you have a half of a year. I hope these treats you can enjoy and stay cool too! Glad you enjoyed the post!
Love this post! Especially loved what you said about happy mommy means happy minis. So true. I’m going to be saving this post for later to try some of these out.

Oh, my! Where do I start?! I think with the sugar cookie sandwich w/ salted caramel ice cream! Really, so many great options here!
I would recommend starting from the beginning and work your way down the list. These recipes are amazing almost as amazing as Pineapple-Orange & Cardamom Creamsicles looks (which I really can’t wait to try those out). You all do such delicious work, how can one choose just one!?!
My little ones are such picky eaters so even these delicious looking summer treats might not please them but I’m going to pick a few to try. Thanks for the recipes.
I am sorry to hear they are picky eaters. Mine have their moments and when they go through those phases (rare but frustrating none the less) this is what I do. I take their favorite fruit at the time and pair it with one of their favorite juices. Have them help me blend it all together (this way they know what is in it and can’t say they don’t like it) and pour it into popsicle trays. I think when the kids are picky eaters sometimes you have to compromise this way you are making something you know and they know they will like plus having and nice cool treat for the whole family! Ease the frustration for everyone
These all sound SO amazing! Perfect to beat the heat this summer!
Thank you so much! These recipe developers do an amazing job!
Mmm!! These all look and sound delish! I love refreshing sweet treats during the summertime!
Thanks! To me there is nothing better after a hot day in the sun than a sweet cool treat even if it is before dinner.
I am TOTALLY saving this for the rest of summer! I want to try them all! It has been seriously hot where I live and I need some cool treats in my life ASAP.
I don’t remember a summer ever being this hot! It is insane out there this year so I am glad I can help you stay cool a bit.
I’ve got a sweet tooth and I just can’t resist those sweet treats! They are just perfect to cool down in summer and to satisfy my tummy. 🙂 Can’t wait to prepare them at home! 🙂
For some odd reason this year I have the worst sweet tooth. Typically I am more of a savory girl but this year nope sweet all the way so the thing I love most about these is they are sweet but most of them contain fruit and all natural ingredients so even though they are sweet they are still healthy!!
I neeeeeed that sugar cookie sandwich in my life like right now. Omg, everything looks so delicious but that just made me crave an ice cream sandwich haha. It’s been such a hot summer, I’m going to have to give in and have some of these sweet (& pretty!) treats!
It has been insanely hot out there this year! I was counting down the days to summer now I am like where’s fall I miss my sweaters. I am glad you liked the list and I hope you are getting that ice cream sandwich soon! Thank you for your kind words and I like that sweet(& pretty) treats!
They all look delicious!
Thank you!
OMG, trying each one of those delectable looking popsicles for the rest of the summer. Especially the strawberry ones!
Well, in that case, I am glad I was able to fill the rest of your summer with cool sweetness! Enjoy those strawberry ones!
Never had sugar cookies. I’ve seen them a lot, but never had them. They look sooo good.
OH, GIRL!! You are missing out sugar cookies are TO… DIE… FOR. When you try them whether it is the recipe above or another one please let me know what you think!
Those snickers bites and the strawberry lemonade ice cream cake are calling my name!
You know then I think you should answer those calls! The snicker bites are great to snack on day after day just keep them in the freezer and pull one out when you want one. That strawberry lemonade ice cream cake is a great reason to get the girls together for a girls night in, with maybe a little champaign, unplugging, and catching up. I hope you enjoy! Have a great summer!
So many delicious cool sweet treats here, thanks for including my ice lollies!
As always I love your work, you are so inspirational not to mention an amazing recipe developer. If it wasn’t for you guys these roundups would not be possible. Therefore it is my pleasure to showcase your work!
Wow! My mouth is watering reading this blog post. Thank you for sharing.
Well on that note I will call it a day! My job is to make people mouths water and that mission was accomplished! Thank you so much I hope you enjoy!
