History of Valentines Day
Valentines Day is older than anyone reading this post. The first Valentine’s Day was celebrated in the year 496.
It is thought to have originated from a Roman festival called Lupercalia to mark the beginning of springtime, and yes it was celebrated in the middle of February.
During the Lupercalia festival, it is believed, that boys drew names of girls from a box, and during the festival, they’d be boyfriend and girlfriend, and sometimes they’d get married.
Years later, the church wanted to turn this festival into a Christian celebration and decided to use it to remember St Valentine too. Over the years St Valentine’s name started to be used by people to express their feelings to those they loved.

I love the feeling in the air on Valentine’s day, sounds weird I know, but most people just seem on cloud 9.
Forget dinner I think I will just skip right to desserts!! These looks so yummy!
I believe holidays should start with dessert, then dinner, then, of course, a break, maybe a movie or a walk then a final dessert. But!! Don’t miss out on the amazing Valentine’s Day Dinner Ideas either, it may help prevent a tummy ache.
Holy motherload of Valentine’s Desserts! I am salivating over here! Pinning for later!

What a great collection of recipes! They all look delicious!
Thank you so much, these bloggers truly are amazing and work their butts off!
Yum!!! Can I run to the store and buy the stuff to make everything!?!?
You can. I suggest one row at a time, it gives you time to cook everything and recover from the sugar rush. That’s what moderation means, Right?!?!
Yum! These all look delicious. Calories don’t count on Valentine’s Day right?? I have such a sweet tooth.
No, absolutely not it is a bonus cheat day! I am so bad when sweets are in front of me, which is why we don’t keep many in the house, but just like Christmas Valentine’s Day and Easter do me in.
All of these desserts look so yummy. I will be on the Whole30 during Vday this year so sadly I won’t be able to eat any of these.
I am so sorry to hear that. I am trying to think because I do my best to include something for everyone, but I don’t think there is a whole30. There is vegan, low carb, gluten-free, low sugar, but no whole30. I will have to start paying more attention to that one. Thank you for pointing that out! Sorry again.
Dessert is m favorite part of any meal, and this collections looks spectacular! I honestly would not be able to decide which one to make, since they all look so good!
I am sorry I made it so hard to choose!! I guess that is a good thing though! You can always make some after the holiday. I do believe though on holidays dessert should be served first then the meal then the second dessert!! Isn’t that the Holiday rule?
I am so excited for Valentines Day! I think this post made me even more excited. I need to get to cooking!
